Consider camera placement, water visibility, fish movement and the observations operators need. Define what to record and how images will be reviewed. Lice and pellet detection should be evaluated against representative conditions and agreed acceptance criteria.
Environmental monitoring
Choose measurements around the water-quality questions you need to answer. Chlorophyll-a fluorescence supports observation of algal biomass. Discuss temperature, oxygen, salinity, depth and current requirements alongside sensor placement, calibration and maintenance.
Bring information into farm operations
Plan power, connectivity and the route from observations to action. Video, sensor data and event records need usable interfaces and a clear role in the operator’s workflow. Discuss connections to dashboards, alerts or SCADA, including data formats and responsibilities for each interface.
